Centipede Bridge
This project explores a whimsical, theoretical bridge design in the form of a giant centipede capable of autonomously moving from place to place. Heavily inspired by the experimental work of the Archigram collective, the design embraces ideas of mobility, futurism, and architecture as something dynamic rather than static. The bridge was imagined as a living piece of infrastructure that could adapt and relocate depending on the needs of the environment around it.
Created during my introductory Blender course, the project gave me the opportunity to experiment beyond traditional architectural modeling and explore animation and motion graphics. While learning the software, I found myself already comfortable with many of the basic 3D modeling tools, so I used this project as a way to push further into movement, rendering, and visual storytelling.
Although the final animation itself was relatively short and simple, the process provided me with foundational motion graphics skills and expanded my ability to use Blender as a tool for conceptual visualization and rendering. The project ultimately became both an exploration of speculative architecture and an introduction to animation workflows within digital design.
