Catio Design

Cat patio design created using Rhino and Adobe Illustrator. This project was designed as a closed-loop system centered around enrichment and sustainability. The "catio" features a compost bin alongside dedicated grow spaces for cat grass and catnip, providing the tools needed to cultivate cat-safe plants within the space itself.

The design includes several small interconnected rooms for the cats to explore. Two of these rooms are intended purely for sleeping and relaxation, while the other two function as planting areas where cat grass can be grown, harvested, and replaced over time. The compost bin would theoretically convert surplus cat grass and catnip into nutrient-rich soil, allowing the planting cycle to continue in a self-sustaining way.
